The Spring 2010 Season of the Suncoast Softball League is almost here! The first day of games will be February 28th! We are all looking forward to another great season!
NEW PLAYERS
If you are interested in joining the league, you will want to contact us as soon as possible. Go to 'Contacts' and select 'Join the League' for the 'To:' field. There will be a NPSAC on January 24th at 11am (more info here) that any players hoping to join the league and be placed with a team should attend. There will be another NPSAC on February 21st, however it is recommended to make the January NPSAC to have the best chances of being placed on a team.
TEAM COMMITMENTS
If you are interested in starting a team, or will be a returning team, please contact the League Commissioner before 11:59p January 31st 2010. This is a hard deadline so that the schedule can be created and ready for review before the February TC meeting, in which it will be voted on.
New Player Skills Assessment Clinic

The New Player Skills Assessment Clinic (NPSAC) will be held on February 21st at 11am at Gadsden Fields in Tampa, FL. The purpose of the NPSAC is for players that are new to the league to have their skills assessed to assist with placing on a team. If you are new to the league, you will need to attend a NPSAC before you will be placed with a team. Even if you already have a team that you would like to play on, you will still need to attend the NPSAC to have your skills assessed. If you don't have a team that you would like to play for, the NPSAC will help to determine what division would be best for you and then assist you in finding a team in that division.
If you are a coach or manager that has picked up a new player, they must attend a NPSAC before they can play on a team. Please be sure that they have gone to the Contact page and provided their information, or send an email directly to sslrecruit (at) yahoo [dot] com. This is important to be sure that they receive updates and are kept informed.

This season had the most teams ever in SSL history and the season moved along smoothly. Thanks to all the teams and league members for making this league a great place to play and make new friends.
In case you haven't heard, the Suncoast Softball League won 1st place for Favorite Local LGBT Sports League/Organization in the 2009 Watermark Wave awards.
We're anticipating a Spring 2010 start date of Feb 28 with more details along the way.
